This Week In Washington
So within the last week we have Clinton and Obama beginning to take swings at one another over fundrasising money and mudslinging one another. It seems like the election cycle gets here sooner every year. Also this week Tom Vilsack, Fmr Govenor of Iowa decided to drop out of the democratic race. I think the reason for this is simple. With rockstars like Obama and Clinton now in the fold, all the money has dried up. Its nearly impossible to out fundraise these icons, and so with no money, means no votes for guys like Vilsack.

Even though our government is of, for and by the people, those who run it must first be RICH!!! Whether it's the celebrity connection, or the family oil industry ties, ya gotta have bigtime funding to even think about running a campaign. However well-intentioned at the start, these pampered elitists inevitably lose perspective and relevance to the people they represent. Sad.
I agree it is sad that you must have tons of money to survive the election process. I would much rather see a political person doing something good in a community like helping rebuild New Orleans after Katrina but nobody was their because it wasn't a big election year.
